You must read this. Well written and simply sets out some good ground rules. Some of the specific examples are a bit out of date. His second book is probably good too.

Life’s a pitch
…and then you die? Not at all. Has some interesting ideas about approaches to different situations you where you present yourself; job interviews, pitches and dates. As with all of this kind of book, food for thought rather than a creed to follow.
